Explanation of processes:
Overhead projection of images on a screen which were photographed and filmed, edited on Movie Maker and sound effects from the internet. Scripted narration was recorded into audacity. Visual effects were created in movie maker.

Explanation of criteria:
This piece of work combines many skills, puppetry, performance, theatre, design and filmmaking. Young Somerset filmmakers have been inspired by visitors from their link school in China and worked together to look at the ancient art form of shadow puppetry. The children have combined the science of shadows with theatre, art, design and digital film meeting the criteria of new approaches to arts. "collaboration and innovation"

Explanation of connection:
The filmmakers attend Meare Village Primary School in Somerset. They are Central Somerset's young talent and take part in The Street & Glastonbury Film Festival annually. The children have visited The Encounters Short Film and animation festival branching out into Bristol this year through FILMCLUB. The Meare School filmmaking club have also showcased their work in the community as part of Somerset Arts Weeks.
