Music @ Shepton Digi Fest
Delaluna Creative Agency in partnership with the Shepton Digital Arts Festival are delighted to bring to you the very best of the south west's audio visual artists, DJ's and musicians.
We have created a series of musical evenings to round off the excellent programme of workshops available throughout the Festival.
At the end of each inspirational day why not visit the bar, meet other industry professionals and experts, kick back your heels and network to a soundtrack of innovative and ground breaking performers.
Oct 6th - Aardman Night. Following workshops with Jayne Chard, Jim Parkyn and Merlin Crossingham of Aardman Animations we have audio visual entertainments in the guise of Subliminal TV aka Jo Hyde (a teacher of Creative Music Technology at Bath Spa University.)
Followed by My Chloroform, a four piece band who draw influence from Massive Attack, UNKLE, Pink Floyd, and David Bowie blended in with a little taste of 80's cult classics Talk Talk and Japan.
Oct 7th - An Evening of Natural History Film Making with Paul Appleby and Film Composer William Goodchild's Working with Music, Delaluna are pleased to present Dirk Landish.
Acclaimed for his whisky viscous voice and commanding lyrics, Dirk has a vintage warmth that will endure many listens and is assured to leave his audiences wanting more.
Dirk will perform his dynamic set on stage with his 3 piece band.
Oct 8th - Shepton Digi Fest Gala Awards: And the Winners Are - we are delighted to present the dynamic Nordic Giants. Influenced by the likes of Sigur Ros, Massive Attack and Cinematic Orchestra, the band have already shared the stage with Ratatat, Mogwai and headlined The World Premiere of ‘The Blot Symphony’, an inspirational visual art piece created by Ralph Steadman.
Hidden behind feathered masks and effortlessly changing between instruments, the duo performs live original soundtracks to a backdrop of award winning short films (Provided by Shorts International).
From dreamy ambient swells, epic builds and huge moments of power to a combination of dark, funny and beautiful short films, which can bring tears, smiles and actually scare you at times. Imagine the visual story telling of a cinema experience mixed with the raw energy and passion of a live gig- and you’ve hit the nail on the head!
