Shepton Mallet Digital Arts Festival recognised in Europe

June 15th, 2011

Shepton Mallet Digital Arts Festival Organiser Claire Sully has been talking about the success of the Festival at a European International showcase in the South of France.

Claire spoke to delegates at the European Business Network Conference -  a pan- European business network made up of some of the most influential businesses and organisations in the world.

The opportunity came about through a collaboration with a Somerset-based innovation project lead by the University of Plymouth and part funded by the EU Interreg IVb programme.

The Festival is being recognised for its innovation and community engagement by the EBN and is at the conference as an example of digitally-driven entrepreneurial success and for establishing a dynamic and collaborative creative hot spot for the South West.

Established over 25 years ago, the European Business & Innovation Centre Network (EBN) has over 240 members in the 27 E.U. member states and in 11 other countries (Central and Eastern Europe, Turkey, Canada, USA, Egypt, China).

The Shepton Mallet Digital Arts Festival is an ambassador for EBN Associate member Plymouth University and projects partners in the Somerset based ‘Collaborate to Innovate’ initiative: Somerset County Council, IBM and Southwest One.
