Shepton Mallet Digital Arts Festival Competition 2010
As part of the Shepton Mallet Digital Arts Festival 2010 we will be running a series of digital art competitions. The competition judges are leading practitioners of film, video, music, web and animation.
We will showcase the competition winners plus art and technology projects, involving the local community collaborating with technology driven businesses/organisations and individuals at Kilver Court, Shepton Mallet.
Our 2010 Theme is:
Open Doors! Open Minds! Build Societies!
We have taken some inspiration from a European Festival Association Initiative, which has as its goal ‘to open doors to new artistic forms, new performers, new audiences, unusual venues, unknown cultures, new points of view, new approaches to arts and the world, new social orders, new political discussions.’ Participation in cultural life, exposure to art, access to artistic knowledge and training are enriching both to the individual and communities.
The Edgar Wright Hot Talent Award
An overall winner will be selected and will be awarded the Edgar Wright Hot Talent Award. Edgar was a 2009 guest judge and is fully supporting the 2010 festival. Read Edgar's story.
