Want to make your own animated film, which will be featured as part of the 2011 Shepton Digi Fest showcase?
This workshop is run by animator Howard Vause - the Shepton Digi Fest's 2009 best animation film winner - who is also a community media arts officer and Frome's Merlin Theatre digital arts practitioner.
Our history expert is co founder of Shepton Mallet Local History Group, Alan Stone.
So what happens? We take you to a place in Shepton with quite a story to tell. This year's festival theme is Connection, so our aim is to connect you to stories of the past and your job is to animate and preserve them for the future.
This is a 3 day workshop: 9.30am to 1.30pm, at Haskins Retail Centre, Shepton Mallet.
Day 1: Guided visit to a selected space in Shepton Mallet & local history talk with Alan Stone. You will then go back to the workshop area to create backdrop and set using found materials where possible to make models
Day 2: Animate models. Each group will make their film
Day 3: Edit films add sound - voice and sound effects
